Privacy Policy
Effective May 15, 2026. How Resume Tailor+ collects, uses, and protects your data.
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account Information: Your email address, name, hashed password, and any profile details you provide.
- Resume and Career Data: Resumes, cover letters, job descriptions, and other career documents you upload or enter into the Service. This data may include employment history, education, skills, contact details, and other personal information contained in your resume.
- Generated Content: AI-generated outputs created for you, including tailored resumes, cover letters, ATS analyses, and interview preparation materials.
- Payment Information: Billing address and the last four digits of your payment card. Full card details are handled exclusively by Stripe; we do not store them.
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, generation history, session duration, browser type, device type, and IP address.
- Communications: Any messages or support requests you send to us.
We use your information to:
- provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- process your resume and job description inputs through our AI generation pipeline;
- process payments and manage your subscription;
- send transactional emails such as account confirmations, password resets, and billing notices — these emails are required for account operation and do not include a marketing unsubscribe option, in accordance with CAN-SPAM exemptions for transactional messages;
- analyze usage patterns using anonymized and aggregated data to improve Service features;
- enforce our Terms of Service and prevent fraud or abuse;
- respond to your support requests; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your resume content to train AI models without your explicit consent. If we send marketing or promotional emails in the future, we will obtain appropriate consent and provide a clear unsubscribe mechanism in every such email.
We share data with trusted third parties only to the extent necessary to operate the Service:
OpenAI, Inc.: Your resume content is processed by OpenAI’s API at two points in the Service workflow: (1) when you upload or submit a resume, to automatically parse and extract structured information from it; and (2) when you submit a resume and job description for AI-powered tailoring, to generate customized outputs. We configure this integration with settings designed to minimize data retention and opt out of data use for model training where such controls are available. OpenAI processes this data subject to its own Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. You can review OpenAI’s policies at openai.com.
Stripe, Inc.: All payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI DSS compliant. We transmit billing information to Stripe to process transactions. We retain only a Stripe customer ID and subscription status; we do not store full payment card details. Stripe’s privacy practices are governed by its own Privacy Policy at stripe.com.
Analytics and Infrastructure Providers: We may use cloud infrastructure services to operate the Service. Any such providers are contractually required to protect your data and use it only as directed by us. Our analytics are internally processed and stored on our own systems; we do not currently use third-party behavioral analytics platforms.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. Following account deletion or termination, we retain your data for up to 90 days before permanently deleting it from our systems, unless a longer retention period is required by law or legitimate business necessity (for example, billing records or fraud logs).
Generated outputs (tailored resumes, cover letters) are stored in your account history and retained for the life of your account. You may delete individual outputs at any time from your account dashboard. To request early deletion of all your data, contact us at legal@resumetailorplus.com.
We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences (such as theme settings), and analyze how users interact with the Service.
- Essential cookies are required for the Service to function (authentication, session management). These cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
- Analytics cookies help us understand how users navigate the Service so we can improve it. These are only set with your consent.
You can manage cookie preferences through the consent banner displayed on first use, or by contacting us. We do not use cookies for cross-site behavioral advertising or sell data derived from cookies to third parties.

- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
- Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format where technically feasible.
- Analytics Opt-Out: Withdraw consent to analytics tracking at any time through the cookie preference settings.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at legal@resumetailorplus.com. We will respond within 30 days of receiving a verifiable request.
